Cicindela dorsalis (common name eastern beach tiger beetle) is a species of tiger beetle found in the eastern United States. The larva of ssp. media moves by distorting its body into the shape of a wheel, and then rolling along the ground.[1]
The subspecies dorsalis, the northeastern beach tiger beetle, is a federally listed threatened species of the United States. In 2009 the United States Fish and Wildlife Service recommended the subspecies be uplisted to endangered status.[2]
